Over the past few years several Alpha courses have been run through the church for different groups of people.
In September 2016 the first ever global Alpha Invitation fronted by the adventurer and TV presenter Bear Grylls, goes live on billboards, buses and in cinema trailers across the world. It is an invitation to go along to an Alpha Course and explore some of life‘s big questions, like: Is There More to Life than This? How Can I Have Faith? Why and How Do I Pray?
You don’t have to be a Christian to do the course – in fact most people there are not. It is ultimately a course which gives the Christian point of view, but it is designed not to pressurise; only to provide a time and space for people to explore what they think and believe.
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions typically running over eleven weeks. No pressure. No follow up. No charge. Each session looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone is welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes, bars—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a short talk/film and a discussion at the end where guests can share their
