Paula Hawthorn is a fundraiser and representative for the New Life Home Trust in Kenya. She organises bead parties to raise funds for the Trust which looks after abandoned babies – particularly she has been raising funds for solar panels to be installed on the orphanages there.
The beads she uses are rejects from the Kazuri bead factory in Kenya – they have small imperfections which people can repair themselves at the party before using the beads to make a necklace. The parties are very popular and the beads are beautiful.
